Sevdah, affectionately called Bosnian „blues“, performed by one Dalmatian klapa (a form of traditional a cappella singing in Dalmatia) is not something common in the music world.
We decided to give a chance to this combination that goes along with the program #SevdahuSofri every Thursday, which was devised by Art Hill in cooperation with the restaurant Sofra. The young tenor Ivan Jelić who we exclusively represent became the first association to sevdah among the citizens of Zagreb who like to have fun while eating delicious Bosnian food. It was Ivan who decided to host his friends from klapa Stine and also show what Bosnians and Dalmatians have in common.
Both sevdah and traditional music from Dalmatia have proved to touch the soul. The combination of these two non-joinable musical genres can be called marine „blues“.
If you would like to find out what marine „blues“ sounds like, you can check it out this Thursday, on February 25th from 8 p.m. within the program #SevdahuSofri in the Bosnian restaurant Sofra in the shopping center Point.
