With tonight’s multimedia event and concert held in the beautiful Park Orsula, Ana Rucner opened the festival “Ana in the City”.
The show was accompanied by projections of videos depicting the beauty of Croatia. Many of them have won international awards, and Ana’s tourist video Ode to Joy where some of the scenes were filmed in Trsteno, received 13 national and international awards. The artist’s audio-visual project took the audience on a flight over Istria, Dalmatia, Plitvice Lakes, Slavonia, Korčula and Linđo, a traditional dance from Dubrovnik region. It is precisely this video, which Ana filmed at one of the previous Festival that always causes great interest when she performs it beyond the Croatian borders.
[blockquote cite=”Ana Rucner” type=”center”]Park Orsula is a beautiful location with a special view and atmosphere that exists only in Dubrovnik. I’m glad I had the opportunity to take the audience throughout Croatia, through a combination of classical music and its modern interpretation, which is very close to a younger audience.[/blockquote]
This year is the fifth anniversary of the Festival that presented many prominent musicians. Visitors of Dubrovnik, as well as the residents of Dubrovnik, will be able to enjoy five concerts till Sunday. Music virtuoso like Oliver Poole, Luca Lucini and Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, and the Symphony Orchestra of Mostar will present themselves on these five concerts.
The Festival continues on Friday, June 6th with performance of Oliver Poole in the Sponza Palace. We invite everyone interested to stop by and see why this young artist is being called a young Rubinstein.
